Skagit Transit Announces Ride Free Day on January 25th to Support Point in Time Count
Skagit Transit is proud to announce a special fare-free program on January 25th, designed to support the Point in Time Count and the broader efforts to combat homelessness in Skagit County. This initiative, approved by the Skagit Transit Board of Directors, applies to all local fixed routes across the county.
The Point in Time Count, organized by the Continuums of Care, is a crucial federal government-mandated survey that counts individuals experiencing unstable housing. Participation in the count is essential as it directly influences funding for local housing and service initiatives. Alongside the survey, meals and support resources are provided to participants.
To facilitate easy access to survey locations, Skagit Transit is offering free transportation to individuals involved in the Point in Time count. Key locations include Anacortes Family Center, American Legion Post 81 in Burlington, Northwest Youth Services in Mount Vernon, and Mount Baker Presbyterian Shelter in Concrete.
For detailed transportation information, passengers are encouraged to use Skagit Transit's real-time bus tracking on https://strweb.skagittransit.org/ or contact our customer service. Our team is committed to ensuring everyone can participate in this vital community event.
